Radiation Therapy Basics (Brachytherapy)

Dr. Brian Lawenda reviews the basics of treating prostate cancer with a type of radiation therapy called “brachytherapy.” Unlike external beam radiation therapy (IMRT or protons), brachytherapy is an invasive technique, which is performed in the operating room under anesthesia in order to place numerous small radiation pellets or catheters directly into the prostate gland.
