Should You Get A Pelvic MRI?

Dr. Brian Lawenda discusses how a pelvic MRI might be helpful in identifying the location of an individual’s prostate cancer (such as being confined to the prostate, extension through the prostate capsule into the surrounding tissues, seminal vesicle invasion, pelvic lymph node involvement). This information can be very useful in planning biopsies, deciding on treatment approaches (prostatectomy, radiation therapy) or as a component of active surveillance.
